Men's health support on the Gold Coast

General information only, not medical advice – talk to your doctor about your health and any symptoms.

The Gold Coast is a place where many men stay active well into their 40s, 50s and 60s, from early beach runs to weekend footy and gym sessions before work. Even so, it is easy to put off talking to a doctor about how you are really feeling.

AMPHA, the Australian Men’s Performance and Health Association Inc, is a Gold Coast based incorporated association that provides general men’s health information and helps with doctor referral enquiries. We do not provide medical care ourselves.

What AMPHA offers

Our Men’s Health Hub covers everyday topics such as energy, sleep, recovery and hormone health in plain, general terms. Each article explains when it makes sense to talk to a GP, so you can take the next step with confidence.

You can also take our free online self-check, a short set of questions to help you reflect on your routines. It is not a medical assessment, and your answers stay on your device. Whatever you answer, the message is the same: talk to your doctor about your health and any symptoms.

Doctor referral enquiries

If you would like help finding a doctor on the Gold Coast, you can send a callback enquiry. AMPHA can share general information about partner clinics, and you remain free to choose any doctor you prefer. AMPHA may receive fees for referring people to partner clinics, such as Third Spring Medical.

Any decision about tests or care is made by a registered doctor after a proper assessment. AMPHA does not assess symptoms, recommend treatments or supply medicines.

Across the Gold Coast

We connect with men right across the region, from Coolangatta to Coomera and out to the hinterland. Our community work includes partnerships with local gyms, sports clubs and workplaces, along with planned community sessions.

Taking the first step

If something has been on your mind, the most useful step is a conversation with a GP. Read an article, take the self-check or send an enquiry, whichever feels right. If you need urgent help, call 000.

Why men put off seeing a doctor

Many men tell us they are too busy, do not want to make a fuss or are not sure whether their concern is serious enough. Others find it hard to know where to start. Our aim is to make that first step a little easier with clear, general information and a simple way to ask for help finding a doctor.

There is no need to have the right words ready. A GP will guide the conversation and ask the questions that matter for your situation.
