Australian Men's Performance and Health Association Inc (AMPHA) has published a set of free consumer safety guides for men looking into men's health services in Australia.
What the guides cover
The four guides explain how to check a men's health clinic is legitimate, red flags with online hormone and peptide clinics, your rights as a men's health patient, and what TGA advertising rules mean for men.
Each guide returns to the same core advice: check your doctor on the AHPRA public register of practitioners, expect a proper assessment in person or by thorough telehealth, expect appropriate blood tests and ongoing follow-up, and avoid services that skip these steps.
Why now
Men are increasingly targeted by online advertising for health services and products. AMPHA wants men to have clear, independent information before they share health details or pay for anything. The guides are general information only and do not recommend any medicine or treatment.
Check a doctor's registration on the AHPRA public register of practitioners.
