Many men delay seeing a doctor, and some turn to online sellers or quick-fix services instead. AMPHA believes the safest starting point is always a registered doctor.

A doctor sees the whole picture

Symptoms such as tiredness, low mood or changes in sleep can have many causes. A registered doctor can take a full history, examine you, arrange appropriate tests and consider everything together, rather than selling a single answer.

Follow-up keeps care safe

Good care does not end after one appointment. Ongoing review lets a doctor check results, look out for side effects and change or stop a plan. Services that skip follow-up remove an important safety net.

Read our position

AMPHA has published a position statement on men's access to safe, doctor-led care, setting out what we support and oppose. We encourage men to read it alongside our consumer safety guides.
